Supporting those who served

Grenadier Walk of Oman- What’s next?

Last month, The Grenadier Walk of Oman completed their marathon trek across the country, walking from Pen-Y-Fan to central London. What’s next for WWTW?

On October 21st, The Grenadier Walk of Oman team completed WWTW’s 6th expedition, having arrived at the finish line at The Anglo Omani Society in London. They walked over 350km (almost the distance of 10 marathons in 12 days) and raised vital funds to support those who served. Veterans, Dave, Brian, Ben Gallagher, Sean and Andy and Serviceman, Ben McComb, demonstrated that despite physical and mental injuries, you can work together to overcome most obstacles.

The team walked to support fellow veterans and although their walk might have finished, now it’s over to you!

This month, Walking With The Wounded has launched our annual Walking Home For Christmas campaign and we are inviting you to take part with your friends and family. Our mission this year is to ensure that no one gets left behind from lockdown. Your mission is to take on a walk, either walking home or somewhere important to you and to fundraise to support those who served.

To support Walking Home For Christmas, last year, the whole Grenadier Walk of Oman team took part in Walking Home For Christmas as part of their expedition training. Furthermore, team member, Dave, sat down with WWTW’s campaign ambassador, Comedian, Al Murray and, WW2 Historian, James Holland, to talk about the expedition and his mental health journey. Listen to his story below.

This year, Brian, from The Grenadier Walk of Oman team is once again donning his Walking Home For Christmas hat and taking on a sponsored walk with his family.

It is now over to you. To sign-up and take on your own walk this year, click here
